The Culture Corner Competition is held annually during the month of May at the Special Activities weekend at Mosney.
Each Local Area can enter two Teams for the County Finals, which are held during the month of March. The first and second in each age group at the County Finals qualify for the National Finals.
Culture Corner Rules
Prize: Jack Coleman Perpetual Trophy
Competitors must be under 15 years of age on July 31st in the year competitions takes place
The performance must be a live stage presentation -"Stories & Folklore of Ireland".
Panel of 6, (minimum of 3 may perform)
Presentation to last a maximum of ten minutes. Extra time will incur penalties.
No props allowed.
All narration, music etc. must be performed by team members.
The criteria for adjudication are as follows:
(a) Overall entertainment value 30marks
(b) Use of talent and versatility 20 marks
(c) Interpretation of theme/storyline 50 marks
At the National Finals the top 6 teams will be recalled for the final
