The National Project Competition is held annually during the month of May at the Special Activities Weekend at Mosney.
The Project Competition Theme is set during the month of January/February. There are four age categories, viz. A) Under 11 years,
B) Under 13 years,
C) Under 15 years, and
D) Over 15 years (no upper age limit) Each Local Area can enter two Projects in each age group for the County Finals, which are held during the month of March. The first and second in each age group at the County Finals qualify for the National Finals. Project Rules Overall Prize: Catherine Cunningham Perpetual Award All Project Competitors may support their presentation by any means desirable, i.e. words, pictures, photographs, interviews, models, samples, etc.
Each panel will consist of a maximum of four persons and a minimum of two persons.
The criteria for adjudication of the Project Competition are as follows:-
(a) Research -range, depth and quality 30 marks
(b) Originality-unique approach. 20 marks
© Presentation -quality, use of media 20 marks
(d) Knowledge of topic. 30 marks
Exhibition space 8 ft high x 8 ft wide will be provided at the National Finals.
A table sized 3 ft. by 2 ft. can be used. Participants in the National Finals at Mosney will be required to be present with their Projects over two days.
